Crickets was established in 2004 by Celia Stephenson and was
originally set
within the grounds of South Hampstead Cricket Club in Milverton
Road, NW6. In 2011 Crickets moved to their beautiful new building
in Chatsworth Road NW2 overlooking Brondesbury Bowling Green.
Children are admitted between 2.5 and 5 years and follow a
carefully structured programme of education based on the
Montessori Method. As well as learning mathematics, reading,
writing, science and cultural subjects, the curriculum also
incorporates creative activities, music, dance and cooking. The
experience gained in the exciting environment of Crickets
Montessori Nursery School gives children a firm foundation for the
next stage of schooling. Our aim is to provide a safe, happy and
caring environment in which each child develops at their own pace
to reach their full potential.
Celia
Stephenson gained a diploma with distinction in the theory and
practice of the Montessori Method of Education for children up to
the age of seven from St.Nicholas College in 1982. Since then her
work in education includes: Deputy Head of Broadhurst Nursery
School in Hampstead, Key stage 1 co-ordinator at South Hampstead
Girls Junior School, Deputy Head of the Hall Junior School in
Belsize Park.
